The Department of Defense has identified 3,775 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans this week:

McCLOUD, Christopher M., 24, Pvt., Army; Malakoff, Tex.; First Cavalry Division.

MELE, John, 25, Sgt., Army; Bunnell, Fla.; Third Infantry Division.

MOTLEY, Todd A., 23, Specialist, Army; Clare, Mich.; First Cavalry Division.

RIVADENEIRA, Jonathan, 22, Specialist, Army; Queens, N.Y.; First Cavalry Division.

TOWNES, Michael L., 29, Staff Sgt., Army; Las Vegas; First Cavalry Division.

WAGONER, Terry D., 28, Staff Sgt., Army; Piedmont, S.C.; First Cavalry Division.
